As we celebrate 11 years of God’s faithfulness at Rooted Fellowship, we explore the biblical meaning behind our Double Down to Double Up discipleship journey.

Through the accounts of Elisha, Job, and the prodigal son, we discover that the double portion is not something we earn through our efforts, but something we receive through God’s extravagant grace.

Because of Jesus Christ, the true firstborn Son, we have been welcomed into God’s family as His children and declared co-heirs with Christ. We are no longer striving to earn our Father’s favour, but are invited to rest in the fullness of the inheritance He has already given us.

The double portion is not about receiving more for ourselves, but about recognising all that we have already received in Christ and living for His glory.
