As Israel stands on the edge of the Promised Land, the opportunity to advance is right in front of them. The enemy is fearful, the timing seems perfect, and victory feels within reach. But instead of sending them into battle, God calls them to something unexpected. Spiritual preparation. In Joshua 5, God reminds His people that before they inherit the promise, their hearts must first be set apart for Him. Through circumcision, Passover, and the end of manna, God restores their identity, renews their covenant, and gives them a glimpse of His faithfulness. This passage reminds us that God cares more about who we are becoming than the opportunities we are chasing.
