Awaken to Bold Witness
This Sunday Elder Kenny closed out our Awaken series by pointing us to bold witness through the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. He reminded us that God often calls us into uncomfortable and unfamiliar spaces but no place is beyond His mercy and grace. Like Philip, we are called to move with bold faith, even when the details are sketchy, trusting that God makes His purposes clear in time.
The encounter between Philip and the Ethiopian official shows the power of the gospel to cross cultural, social, and even personal barriers. No achievement, influence, or past brokenness can satisfy or disqualify us. Only Jesus makes us worthy. Through His death and resurrection, He has given us a new identity, like adoption into a new family with a new name.
The call for us today is clear: to anchor ourselves in this good news and boldly proclaim it in our homes, workplaces, and communities. To witness that Jesus Christ has come, has died, has risen, and will come again.
